Well that is a shame. I checked your version and there's no mistakes on my end. I also got the black textures on the DirectX Viewer, but when I turn it so its almost completely vertical or horizontal, then its colours appear. I also fiddled around with the settings and turned off an option, something to do with shadows, and the colour came back (more or less). I might try going through the tutorial again, hopefully it was a small typing error that I missed. Thanks all the same.
Thanks! That fixed the initial problem and with that done mataex worked fine. I made it all the way to the end of the tutorial and this happened:
I had just typed the last command and then it said that ^ and mataex crashed... I don't suppose you have a fix for this too?
This is just something I thought might help:
Thanks from your favourite liability,
I'm trying to make a map, sadly, however, I need help.
I'm following the tutorial on here: http://wiredforwar.wikia.com/wiki/Map_making_tutorial
I have the cmd open, but I'm not used to using it. I'm on this step:
But the command it tells me to do wont work.
This is where my Machines is located:
This is what I get when I type those commands:
What commands should I be typing to get the same effect?
@M123 Yeah, 1929 x 1080 is an option, but the opening menu and in game side menu becomes tiny. The initial opening menu is about 1/8 of my actual screen. And thanks again!
@Pisarz once I zoom out, even a little, their eyes change to be like this, just white dots, the gorillas eyes disappeared all together, but I painted them back on. And for the wasps and bee bomber their eyes were quite small, so I painted slightly larger, brighter ones over the top
@X-Lord I've already upgraded my textures to some nice fancy ones, and the screenshot isn't mine. Perhaps I'll make my own badass background, with some gorillas, of course. Recently my machines has been playing up, the buttons on the menu have no words... it's happened before, I'll just reinstall. If I copy the savegame data and put it on once I've reinstalled, will it keep my data?
Just an example of what I mean. Looks okay from afar, but its not 1920 x 1080, and if you look closely you can see it took me 30 seconds in MS paint.
Hello. When I run the game it works perfectly, I do not use the autorun item, as it does not work. I start the game from the application labelled 'machines' and it skips the start menu, but that's not to do with my question. Hayden's instructions do not use the disk 1 iso that he supplied, and seeing as it works, that's ok. But I was wondering, can I burn the disk 1 and 2 iso's to hard disks and install the game the way it was meant to be? I also assumed this might fix the fact there is no music, as I assume that is on disk 2 but cannot be used unless its a hard copy? Either way, it would be great to know, as it saves me trying and failing, but if it does work, it would be great to have a hard copy in English, seeing as I cant speak Italian and that's all I've got. Turns out the English version is hard to come by. Thanks.
@X-Lord You did a great job and I'm very pleased with the far better look of almost everything. Sadly it appears that the vent texture isn't working quite right, I noticed it on the side of a military factory. I believe that there should be a fan beneath it but instead there is just a pink circle. I was wondering if you could fix this for me as I'm not sure how to go about doing so.
