Multiplayer setup problems
-
Hello WiredForWar!
For some reason multiplayer doesn't seem to work for me, if anyone could help out I'd greatly appreciate it.
Multiplayer (TCP/IP mode) doesn't recognize any hosted games despite:
-Both computers (Win7 x64) running Machines itself perfectly
-Both applications being launched with Administrator privileges, and network permissions
-Hamachi installed, and:
-Client attempting to connect to server (in machines TCP/IP menu) via both LAN IP and Hamachi IPI'm puzzled with this one, I feel like it was so easy to set up before...
Thanks in advance for any help, I appreciate it.

i believe that the problem is related to the new ip adress protocol. as this game was made before it was created it uses the old one. some game however is having trouble with 2 protocols active so the solution is to disable the internet protocol version 6 as the game uses version 4. i do not know why they are named that way but that is not relevant. all games uses version 4. update: i tried to play it multiplayer myself and tcp/ip was not possible. i suggest downloading the ipx wrapper from here: http://www.solemnwarning.net/ipxwrapper/. it works perfectly.

Another suggestion is to use the https://www.gameranger.com/ with which I was able to play Machines online.
