Tried to run it in compatibility mode but I still get the ..not a valid win32 application error.

Hey there I just found you guys again the other day, and it got me wanting to play again. Tried in 8.1 - no joy. So I installed a VM with XPS3 and now I get "this is not a valid win32 app..." Been so long I forget how to fix this. Any help would be appreciated. Followed your link to the old forums hoping to find the patch - no luck there, can't log in..so if anyone has the patch and instructions I can be on my way!!
