    • Have you guys seen this Wiki page? (Night Dive) - Big News

I came across a post on Steam a few minutes ago about this guy in the Steam group talking about how this company, Night Dive Studios, re-released old games and one of them was 'Shadow Man', which was also by Acclaim. The guy sent them an e-mail saying 'hey, I like what you're doing, check out this game called "Machines: Wired for War" (pretty much) and the company replied saying they'd look into it.

So, I did some looking around and I found their Wiki page, and thought ok, this is a neat idea. I scrolled down to find a table full of all of their past re-releases. Then I scrolled down to 2015... 2016... and the last year, 2017. There are only 3 titles planned for this year - and the very last one is Machines! It doesn't show any specific date, but this is basically what it looks like: https://image.ibb.co/b5O8qa/mchns.png

The Wiki page for Night Dive:

I have no clue if this is new news or if this has been known for a while, but it would be super cool to see this game come out again and get the attention it's always deserved.

    • HOW TO PLAY MACHINES MULTIPLAYER ONLINE/OVER THE INTERNET WITH FRIENDS (2019)

I understand this might exist already, however there was some stuff I had to come across elsewhere, and there isn't really a step-by-step guide with all of the details, so I just wanted to put this guide together.

      1. Get Machines, duh: http://wiredforwar.org/topic/2/how-to-get-up-and-running (for best performance I usually play on 640x480)
      2. Download Hamachi, and have whoever you're playing with download it. Create a network and have them join it.
      3. Download IPXWrapper: http://www.solemnwarning.net/ipxwrapper/
      4. Open the .zip file you get, and drag the following files into your ROOT Machines folder (where machines.exe and all of the other files are): wsock32.dll, mswsock.dll, ipxwrapper.dll, dpwsockx.dll.
      5. If you have a 64 bit computer, run directplay-win64.reg found in the ipxwrapper .zip (if you have a 32 bit computer, run directplay-win32.reg)
      6. Open ipxconfig.exe and set Primary interface to "LogMeIn Hamachi Virtual Ethernet Adapter", and under "Network adapters" select "LogMeIn Hamachi Virtual Ethernet Adapter" and make sure the "Enable interface" checkbox is checked. Hit "Apply."
      7. Open Machines, go to Multiplayer, and select "IPX Connection for Direct Play," select "Create game," and create the game.

Your friends should now be able to select "IPX Connection for Direct Play," and see your game (if not, remember to have them select "Show Games").

Hopefully this was able to help people, and hopefully NightDive Studios remakes Machines so it's easier ;)

      Have fun!
