      @Judas
      So of course nobody will be asking for money from other people's work. Until everything is original content, nothing would be sold, and a prototype would most likely start out as a free game.

      And of course, if the game were to be a commercial product, all developing parties would have to be compensated fairly, which would be another thing to figure out.

      @Judas said:

      We could always decide to switch from OS to some form of commercial project in the future. This doesn't mean we have to use the traditional 'Buy game, get game' model.

      Agreed, again I think we should get a prototype out and see where to go from there.

      @Hayden So I think we'll use a personal git server that we've set up, and we can just have contributors access as needed. And yeah, I suppose the dev site would help.

          As long as we're going OSS, I think a GitHub org would be better than a personal git server. They've got a lot of great tools there for managing the repo and project, plus it's friendlier to OSS devs who typically use GitHub.

          Plus we can always set up our own build servers and whatever else to pull from GitHub.

            Yeah since the prototype can be open source guaranteed, if we want to take that route GitHub would work. I'll probably set one up soon.

            Just send me your github usernames and I'll add you. Will push some stuff later.

              @bilal a GitHub organization would work better - could you put one of those together and maybe add Judas and myself as admins? That way we can maintain multiple repos and have multiple users as admins.

                  If we could get GitHub.com/OpenMachines that'd be awesome!

                                Nice job, guys.

                                @Judas Could you upload those models somewhere? I'm sure they take up considerable space, but it'd be more than helpful if you could put a .7z up somewhere like on mega.co.nz or even a torrent (although my university blocks legal torrents and I've yet to bypass it >.>)

                                I could attempt again to texture the models, but it's been a long time, and I'm used to Wings3D over the preferred Blender. I ask for the models not only out of convenience, but out of the fact that I don't exactly have a fully functional Windows install, so I'm not sure if I could even extract them myself, not to mention the fact that Judas already has a licensed converter for free.

                                  BTW, I love the notification sound on this site.

                                    It's the original sound used in the game, haha ;)

                                    But yes, I've uploaded them all to the "Downloads" category. It's only 40mb or something.

                                    You want me to check if I can convert it to Wings3D? (I'm not sure how much cross-compatibility there is between 3D models filetypes)

                                      I think Wings3D should be able to access them as blender can.

                                        @Judas It's more that I need to get used to blender and get off my lazy Wings3D-using butt. There isn't really a problem with file compatibility as much as software capability.

                                        It's good to know the site can just host the downloads under a subdomain. I'll see if I can get something done with these.

                                          Has anyone tried to track down ANYONE that has developed the game using LinkedIn or other means? Might be able to get some sweet development stuff that way.

                                            Yeah, I mean I found the designer on linkedin here.

                                            But we were mainly looking at people who dealt with the IP, like people involved in the acclaim auction etc.
