youre windows doesn´t support youre files. reconvert them to play the game.
win 8.1 can read the in game files but have problemes to emulating it becaus the files data are very complicated coded so thats win 8.1 can´t play it without a problem.... means win 8.1 + machines = performence issue but win 7 + machines = no problems ^^

@Encrypted Im going to attempt to contribute now i have the ability too. I tried a few years back but there was nothing like unreal or a working wings 3d back then. Now everything is possible. I thought "what better way to re-train my self on new software than to try replicating things from my favorite game!"
Its nice and simple animation too so i can really try at it.

Hmm, I don't have any experience with Chromebooks.

You could try dgVoodoo 2 - if the integrated graphics chip (or its drivers) doesn't support old versions of Direct3D well, it may help.

I installed machines again, and since this happened to me, I do not know if it will be the new updates that I had in Windows 10, because previously it worked for me.

dgVoodoo did not work for me.

P.S: by the way, I'm from Chile

The Machines Demo on the Turok 2 demo is what introduced me to the game. I saw Turok 2 remastered on Steam a few days ago, too. I really hope someone does that for Machines.

Those wraith reapers are easily taken care of before they get into range. Three direct hits and they're destroyed.

Make sure you go into first person and rotate your torso so you're walking "backwards" towards the enemy, so if they start to get too close, you retreat quickly while firing at them.

There's no reason why you should get surrounded; if you destroy the turrets, you can have them chase you all around the empty canyon while you shoot at them. There shouldn't be enough enemies to where you can't destroy all of them before looping back around.

But the first person strategy isn't something I recommend; it's far easier and quicker to just build an Eagle APC and fly in to pick up the commandant.

So I installed it on an old dell laptop and voila! It's working perfectly!!

I have similar draw distance issues. What graphics card are you using by the way, because I am using an AMD 7000 ish series card, and these look startlingly familiar.

i must say that this tool isn't working on mine Windows 7 ;x when i try to extract mech1 then it opens CMD window then closes after few seconds without any result / error :/ nothing happens damn it...

Oh yeah... this won't work with the original files. You will need to apply this patch on top of a Machines 1.5 installation.
